Maria Matveeva is a Russian singer who, in addition to her career as a lyric soprano in Opera, has experimented various musical genres.

 

Maria is an artist, a natural musical talent, a very cultivated musicologist with a strong and classic education, searching for new sounds and unique extraordinary international musical experiences. Knowing distant cultures and traditions she is able to turn fascinating and sophisticated sounds into touching, melodic and original compositions.

 

Thanks to all these musical experiences and her personal research, Maria has begun different collaborations with international renowned artists. 

 

Being in Los Angeles, together with famous pianist Mike Garson, “Bowie's Piano Man”, created a very original re-interpretation of the hit “Life on Mars”, a tribute to David Bowie. Maria and Mike Garson have still been working together developing other original music projects.

 

Currently Maria is working on an ambitious project with Eric Mouquet, the founder of Deep Forest, a legendary band of great success that marked a stylistic change in  the style  of  world music.
